Gladdens me to see the Kesselring, Steinbeck, Doyle, Lumet, and Dash on here, if for no other reason than to further validate my schizophrenic interests. Not that the voices don’t suffice, just nice to hear one on the outside.

While traveling a couple years back, reread “East of Eden” for the first time in over a decade and kept rereading the first dozen pages, thinking to myself, “Oh riiiight…some folks know for writing.”

The Holmes canon can be a bit of a slog without one of several, wonderful annotated editions that can help through some of the, erm, lesser shorts and novels and thinly-veiled screeds. Definitely worth it though.

On first reading the article, I would have sworn that Hulk goofed, that “Daughters” was an adaptation which is a bit alarming given how much I have written on it. It is simply that rich texturally, textually, and contextually.

Growing up in a Protestant home in the Midwest, the not-reading of the Bible was not an option. It proved remarkably helpful in later secular studies and, oddly, somewhat of a liability in religious ones.

Anyway, great annotated bib, Hulk. The bounty of the information age has given way to the granularity of obsession. Too many of us know too much about too little.

    Keep hope alive, Hulk.
